Two Minds.
One Material.

Each collection is shaped by dual interpretations. Together, they complete the form.

The Two

We are Hana and Malak Abdelaziz - twin sisters, designers, and the founders of KOUNI.

After studying design in Barcelona, we knew we wanted to create a practice of our own. What shaped that vision was the way we naturally work: through two distinct points of view. The same object, the same starting point, often leads us in different directions.

KOUNI was born from that dynamic. A studio built around dual interpretation, where one shared structure is explored through parallel perspectives.

Comes in twos. Designed by two.

What is Kouni ?

KOUNI carries two meanings.

The first comes from the Arabic كوني — to become.

It reflects our belief that design should never be confined to a single material, process, or expression, but remain open to continuous experimentation. Each collection takes on a new identity while remaining unmistakably KOUNI.

The second is deeply personal. KOUNI is formed from KOUKI and NOUNI - our two identities converging into one name.

Together, these meanings define our philosophy: one form, interpreted twice. A shared foundation transformed through materiality, color, pattern, and detail into two distinct expressions.

Never static. Always in becoming.
